Débora Peixoto, a Brazilian model and influencer, used her own feces as a facial mask, claiming it to be a “new beauty trend.” Doctors and health experts have warned the public not to replicate this procedure at home.

A video of Débora performing this act went viral on Instagram. She takes a jar of feces she had stored in the refrigerator, puts a clothespin on her nose, and then applies the excrement to her face. The model says the goal is to delay aging.

Dermatologist Sophie Momen from the Cadogan Clinic in London told UNILAD that “there is no benefit to the skin in using feces as a facial mask,” and it is one of the “strangest” trends she has encountered.

Sophie also added that this can cause infections and food poisoning.

Plastic surgeon Tunc Tiryaki urged people not to repeat this at home due to health risks. “Feces contain a wide range of bacteria, viruses, and parasites, including E. coli, Salmonella, and worms, which can cause infections and serious diseases,” he said.

Tiryaki stated that traditional facial masks are sufficient for skin care.
